Meet Our President

Ms Marisa Marshall

Marisa Marshall is a Charter Member of the Kiwanis Club Pride of Barbados. Marisa has been a Kiwanian since 15 September 2008 and has had the honour of being named a Distinguished Secretary during the years 2009 - 2010 and 2010 - 2011.

From inception of the club, Marisa has been actively involved in it's Leadership and has been Chairperson of the Young Children Priority One, Youth Services, Succession Planning and Public Relations Committee; she has also served as a Director on several occasions. In recognition of her passion and dedication to Kiwanis, the Club presented Marisa with the President's Award for Outstanding Service. In recognition of her leadership and inspiration of others Marisa was accepted into the Kiwanis International Foundation Leadership Society in 2009.

If you ask this young Kiwanian about her Kiwanis experience, Marisa will willingly tell you that for her the Kiwanis Club Pride of Barbados has been a place where people have joined as members and bonded like family, for her it has been a place where "ordinary" people have come together to pool their talents and resources to positively influence the lives of many in meaningful and lasting way.

Away from Kiwanis, Marisa is a trained Assessor and Internal Verifier for the Customer Service NVQ Qualification. She is also an avid Paper Crafts Designer and Event Consultant. Marisa is also the mother of a wonderful daughter named Alika.

Marisa is delighted to be the President of the Kiwanis Club Pride of Barbados during the year 2013-2014. E. O. Wilson said "you are capable of more than you know. Choose a goal that seems right for you and strive to be the best, however hard the path. Aim high. Persist! The world needs all you can give" , with this in mind, Marisa is encouraging her members and the entire Kiwanis family to enthusiastically persist, remain committed to the Objects of Kiwanis, support each other and  "Make Your Mark" - change the world one child, one community at a time!
