Kiwanis Club Pride of Barbados is always seeking ways to bring joy to children, families and their care givers. We are especially pleased that our YCPO & Youth Services Committtee have conceptualised and begun to conduct our SMILE! It's Your Special Day project. The club will be celebrating birthdays and special achievements of children.
The Kiwanis Club Pride of Barbados has had a successful fundraiser for the Global Community Service Project - ELIMINATE. 510 lives have been saved or protected.
The Kiwanis Club Pride of Barbados joined the other four clubs in Barbados to partner with Attorney Faith Marshall Harris - UNICEF's Champion for the Rights of Children in Barbados to carry out our LG Project ""Raising Awareness of Child Neglect and Abuse in our Communities".
The Kiwanis Club Pride of Barbados is elated to be working with the Eden Lodge Nursery. During the month of October 2013 the club was able to visit the nursery to conduct a needs analysis and over the Kiwanis year we will be working closely with the Aunties, Parents and Children.
We have been told that approximately 300 families depend on the HIV/AIDS Foodbank. With this is mind the Kiwanis Club Pride of Barbados has ensured that our regular doantions to the Foodbank continue.
The Kiwanis Club Pride of Barbados is always happy to assist our other sister clubs with their projects. Therefore our members were happy to assist the Kiwanis Club of Bridgetown with their annual Sliver Dollars for Children initiative.
The Kiwanis Club Pride of Barbados sincerely thanks Magistrate Barbara Cooke-Alleyne for visiting the Eden Lodge Nursery to present to the Parents and Aunties at the facility about What is Child Abuse and How it can be Prevented. We were also delighted to have our LG Delores Lewis present to open the session as this topic is the focus of the LG project for the year 2013-2014 and we are sure that the work done during this period will lay the foundation to support a change in our communities for years to come.
2013-2014 is here and the Kiwanis Club Pride of Barbados celebrated the new year in style and a positive Kiwanis spirit. Members and other Kiwanians came together for an evening that was filled with a friendly, fun and loving atmosphere. With a club theme of “Making Our Mark” and a Kiwanis International Theme of "We Build Bridges for Children to the Future" President Marisa was able to reinforce the meaning of these themes through simple yet impactful and memorable activities -
