What Is Kiwanis?

Kiwanis is the champion for Children. It was founded in 1915 and headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA. Kiwanis International is a thriving organisation of service and community-minded men and women who support children and young adults worldwide. More than 8,400 Kiwanis Clubs in more than 96 countries make their mark by responding to the needs of their communities truly "Serving the Children of the World."


The Kiwanis Club Pride of Barbados, led at the time by Distinguished President Merlin Carter and Distinguished Secretary Cynthia Blackman was chartered on September 15, 2008. The club was sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Barbados South.

The Club is a member of the Eastern Canada and the Caribbean District and falls under Division 27. Though a young club it has had the honour of being a Distinguished Club since its existence. The Kiwanis Club Pride of Barbados has touched the lives of many over the years.
